The Pusol Project begins the activities of "Pusol Acoge"

This initiative, developed for the users of the Elche Acoge Foundation and with the collaboration of the "la Caixa" Foundation, will be carried out throughout this year, with one activity per month

Last week, the Pusol Project began with the calendar of activities planned within the program “Pusol Acoge. Traditional culture and local heritage as tools for integration and coexistence”, whose objective is to promote the union between cultures through the use of heritage and traditional culture.

This first activity, which took place on Wednesday afternoon -with a group of boys and girls and their mothers- and on Friday morning -with adults-, took place in the facilities of the Pusol School Museum and its surroundings. In these two days, the participants enjoyed a guided tour of the museum, an excursion to a nearby traditional house, a demonstration of climbing a palm tree by a palmer, and the preparation of a didactic guide. The intention of this activity in particular and of the program in general was to interact with the users of Elche Acoge to exchange experiences and knowledge between our traditions and those of the participants.

In addition to the collaboration of the neighboring palm grower, Emeterio Vicente, and the vice president of the association, Maruja Sabuco, the activity had the support of Javier Quesada, from the Ismael Quesada company from Elche, a regular collaborator of the Pusol Project.

“Pusol Acoge” is being made possible thanks to the drive of the “la Caixa” Foundation and its calls for grants for projects that promote interculturality and social action.
