The tours for groups of schoolchildren are guided by students of the Puçol School (Colegio de Puçol), who are responsible for explaining everything to their visitors. They are taught how to do this throughout the school year, and are always accompanied by an adult guide.
The guided tour is adapted to suit both the number of visitors, and their ages and knowledge. Depending on these characteristics, the tour takes different routes. For example, small children aged three to five years get to see the toy shop, the grocery store, the kitchen, school, etc., while older children learn about more complicated aspects, like printing, and tilling.
With regard to the duration of the visit. Tours are usually from 9.30-10.00 to 12.30-13.00, and a maximum of 120 minutes (2 hours) of continuous visit, with a 30-minute break for a snack (11-11.30). If less time is available, the guide/monitors will skip some exhibitions and contents, and focus on the most important areas.
Guided tour for associations and groups of adults
Guided visit for associations and groups of adults
If the visit is on a weekday morning from Monday to Friday (from 9 to 12.30), part of the tour is guided by students from the Colegio de Puçol, who learn this skill throughout the school year and are always accompanied by an adult guide; in these cases, the rest of the visit is guided by the museum’s employees and monitors. Tours on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, and during afternoons from Monday to Friday (from 15.30 to 19.00), are guided by usual members of the museum team.
The length of the visit depends on the available time the group has, because the most important parts of the museum are selected. These are the kitchen and bedroom of the traditional home, the palms, thresher, wine, oil and the school among the most popular local trades; and the Pérez Seguí drugstore, Esquembre photo studio, Almacenes Parreño toy store and grocery are highlights among the stores. However, to explore the entire museum and all its temporary and permanent collections, a full guided tour takes around 120 minutes (two hours). If you add the garden and vegetable garden to your visit, and exclusive visits to the warehouse and the library, a guided tour can take up to 150 minutes (two and a half hours).
