Traditional music and leisure in “Pusol Acoge”

Already in the previous organization of this activity, which is part of the “Pusol Acoge” project -promoted by the “la Caixa” Foundation-, the fun was already coming.

Music and traditional entertainment, that is, how our grandfathers and grandmothers, fathers and mothers used to have fun, was the central theme of the new activity with Elche Acoge, with the boys and girls of its summer camp, during the past July.

First of all, after the initial presentations, traditional music was discussed. The Puçol School Museum team brought a record player, records and cassettes to the Rincón de las Culturas, so that the new generations present could see how music was heard. Afterwards, they were told about some of the musical instruments they played, such as the lute, and then they were lent some castanets and had them try playing them, while watching videos of traditional dances. We also listen and sing songs from Elche. This first part of the day ended with live music by guitarist Fran Tarí who voluntarily wanted to collaborate with Pusol Acoge. Boys, girls, volunteers and volunteers ended up getting up and dancing to the sound of the guitar.

Playing auca was the second part of the activity. Divided into three groups, each of them dedicated themselves to painting and assembling the pieces of the board, consisting of drawings of recognizable elements, such as animals or objects. And, with a giant dice, they were playing and trying to guess the figure that was going to come out in the roll.

The day ended with a hilarious award ceremony: a surprise box in which everyone put their hand and got their reward.
