October 1 of each year, since 2009, is a day of celebration at the Puçol School Museum: on that day, UNESCO inaugurated a new list of heritage and, in it, included the Educational-Museum Project carried out in the district of Puçol, which at that time had more than forty years of experience. Becoming part of the Registry of Good Safeguarding Practices for Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Puçol School Museum Project became the third heritage site in the municipality of Elche.

Two years ago, a heritage conference was organized in Elche to commemorate ten years of recognition. The recognized patrimonies of the Valencian Community and the other two Spaniards included in the same list as Puçol participated in them. This year, due to the health situation we are going through, the museum has chosen not to organize a mass event. However, and given that this date is still marked in the memory of everyone, the current team of the Project, school and museum (association), has recorded a video in which each person expresses, with one word, what it means for them and them this Educational-Museum Project. As activities linked to the anniversary, Puçol yesterday inaugurated a new temporary exhibition, about the publisher of stories and children's books Calleja. Saturnino Calleja. Not only stories” can be visited until next December.

Among the recent innovations, the reception and shop of the School Museum -where you can buy local artisan products- have been renovated, thanks to a grant from the Valencian Community. And, shortly, the entrances to both exhibition areas, rural and urban, will also undergo modifications. In addition, the museum will soon publish a new book, sponsored by the Provincial Council of Alicante.
