Puçol commemorates Women's Day through its textile funds

Every March 8, the Pusol Project prepares an activity to commemorate International Women's Day. On this occasion, the visitor to the Puçol School Museum will find different female mannequins distributed throughout the exhibition and dressed in different clothes. In the area dedicated to rural areas we found a woman dressed for Sunday leisure gatherings. In the room "The years of change", on the sideboard machine, we can see the bust of a worker with the classic short-sleeved gown typical of the sideboard. In the Pérez Seguí Drug Store you will find the seventies mannequin, dressed in the typical flared trousers and a shirt with a large collar. One of the bras from our collection is displayed on the counter of the Jaime Brotons fabric store. Next to the chambilero's cart is the representative urban woman of the late nineteenth century, wearing a greenish two-piece outfit.

From Puçol we wanted to make a small tour in which we show different women from different places and areas, through the textile collections that are preserved in the museum. From the “period” woman to the one from the seventies -already wearing pants-, going through the one who works in the fields and the dresser. A small tribute to each and every one of them.

These mannequins will be exhibited in the permanent exhibition of the Puçol School Museum until next Sunday, March 13.
