The Pusol Acoge project of the Puçol School Museum, which can be visited thanks to a temporary exhibition with a catalog

From today November 11 and until January 15 of next year, the exhibition titled Pusol Acoge. Traditional culture and local heritage as tools for integration and coexistence can be visited at the facilities of the Puçol School Museum.

This exhibition is the result of the interculturality project carried out throughout 2022 between the School Museum and the Elche Acoge Foundation -with its migrant users-, thanks to the support of the “la Caixa” Foundation. The Pusol Acoge initiative, of a community and participatory nature, is distinguished by making use of local heritage to promote social cohesion and integration and, ultimately, respectful and sustainable coexistence between peoples. Pusol Acoge emphasizes the encounter and synergy between cultures, the creation of identity links between the local population and the migrant community residing in Elche.

The exhibition collects all the activities carried out within this project through photographs, explanatory panels, didactic guides prepared by the participants in some of the workshops, recipes cooked by the users of Elche Acoge... traditional ceded by them, mainly clothing.

Pusol Acoge also shows a video with testimonials from some of the participants, technicians and volunteers from Elche Acoge and the museum, as well as plans and photographs of the different activities carried out this year.

As a final point to the initiative supported by the "la Caixa" Foundation -in addition to the exhibition and the video-, the Puçol School Museum has published a publication that includes the entire project and the history of both participating entities, a book that can be obtained at the museum reception.

At the opening ceremony, which has had a bus of users from Elche Acoge, Rafa Martínez, director of the museum; Ángeles Rodes, coordinator of El Rincón de las Culturas de Elche Acoge; and the Councilor for Culture of the Elche City Council, Marga Antón.
