The Puçol Project presents its new oral memory book

Today, “Making history. Recovery of oral memory in Elche and its surroundings", the latest book published by the Puçol Project -with the support of the Alicante Provincial Council-, which collects the testimonies of 25 residents of Camp d'Elx born between 1917 and 1966.

Part of the people interviewed attended the event and it was held in the same museum facilities. First of all, Rafa Martínez, Director of the Puçol Project, intervened, thanking all the people interviewed and the provincial public administration for their support, and recalling the importance of this type of projects and publications. From the oral testimonies, a vision of history is accessed that completes what has been learned in the books, making us participants in events that are closer when they are narrated by their protagonists. With the project “Making history. Recovery of oral memory in Elche and its surroundings", the School Museum contributes to the safeguarding and dissemination of the memory of Camp d'Elx.

Marga Antón, the Councilor for Culture of the Elche City Council, has continued with the parliaments, emphasizing the importance of museums like this one so that the new generations can access our most recent history.

Lastly, Juan de Dios Navarro, Deputy for Culture, gave way, who recalled the constant support of the Alicante Provincial Council for the Puçol Project and all its activities related to safeguarding heritage.

After these interventions, the publication has been distributed among the assistants; and, from today, it can be purchased for free at the facilities of the Puçol School Museum.
