Last March, the Hon. The Provincial Council of Alicante published in the Official Gazette of the Province, the call for subsidies to City Councils, Foundations and other non-profit entities, in the province of Alicante, for museums and permanent museographic collections, in its 2023 annuity.

In ordinary competitive competition, the Fundación Proyecto Puçol presented the project titled "Record of the collection of comics from the Puçol School Museum (first edition)", an initiative based on the registration of part of the vast collection of comics that safeguards the museum in its documentary collection.

Just a few days ago (mid-late August), the final resolution of the call was published, with the Provincial Council supporting this initiative with a total amount of €20,000.00.

The objective of this project has been to adequately preserve, classify, photograph, investigate and record comics such as Lily, El capitán Trueno, Mortadelo y Filemón or El Infantil, dated between the 1930s and the 1980s. Within this project, 958 comics located in 17 filing cabinets (out of a total of 38) have been registered.

Thanks to the Hon. Provincial Council of Alicante, this activity has been able to be carried out and has achieved the expected results, which have to benefit the conservation of our history and our roots and, therefore, of society.
