The traditional trade of beekeepers and honey are the main motif of the tent of the Pusol School Museum in the Fireta del Camp d'Elx of this annuity.
The Fireta del Camp d'Elx has become an annual event characteristic of the city of Elche, a space in which the rural and urban world meet.
This year, and thanks to the constant collaboration and support of the Associació per al Desenvolupament Rural del camp d'Elx (A.D.R.), the Pusol School Museum is present in the Fireta paying tribute with its stand to the beekeeper, so deep-rooted craft of the Camp d'Elx. In this space you will be able to observe and know the procedure by which honey was collected and treated in a traditional way, through a small photographic report and through the typical instruments of slaughter, donated for years by different people involved in the Project. The beekeeper’s costume, the honeycombs, the cork and cisca beehives, the hand centrifuge, the classic glass jars... are some of the elements that the visitor to the Fireta can find at the Museum stand.
Collaborators and members of the Association will demonstrate braided white palm, esparto and setiet throughout Saturday and Sunday at the Paseo de la Estación, a small representation of the activities organized by the Pusol School Museum on a regular basis.
